{"id":1082,"date":"2013-05-10T01:37:45","date_gmt":"2013-05-10T01:37:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/suretyone.com\/blog\/?p=1082"},"modified":"2017-01-03T16:20:35","modified_gmt":"2017-01-03T16:20:35","slug":"maryland-direct-wine-shipper-bond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/suretyone.com\/blog\/maryland-direct-wine-shipper-bond\/","title":{"rendered":"Maryland Direct Wine Shipper Bond"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A tax permit application and <strong><a title=\"Surety One\" href=\"https:\/\/suretyone.com\" target=\"_blank\">Maryland direct wine shipper bond<\/a><\/strong> are required by the Maryland Comptroller before a winery can engage in the shipment of wine directly to residents of the State.\u00a0Effective July 1, 2011, an in-state or out-of-state winery who has a wine manufacturer license may obtain a Direct Wine Shipper&#8217;s Permit issued and ship wine to personal residences through a common carrier, such as FedEx or UPS. \u00a0The <strong>Maryland direct wine shipper bond\u00a0<\/strong>is required under General Article\u00a0<a title=\"MD Beer Wine tax law\" href=\"http:\/\/law.justia.com\/codes\/maryland\/2005\/gtg\/13-825.html\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a7 13-825<\/a>\u00a0however the activity is also regulated under Article <a title=\"MD Direct wine shipper laws\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lexisnexis.com\/hottopics\/mdcode\/\" target=\"_blank\">2B, \u00a7 7.5<\/a>.
