The <strong>Montana debt management company bond\u00a0<\/strong>must be written in the amount of set by the <a title=\"MT DoJ - Debt Mgt Lic section\" href=\"https:\/\/doj.mt.gov\/consumer\/for-business\/debt-management-and-debt-settlement\/\" target=\"_blank\">Department of Justice<\/a> and benefit any consumer harmed by a violation of the provisions of the Act. An applicant that does not maintain an office in the state with a credit counselor on the premises must post a <strong><a title=\"MT debt mgt co bond form\" href=\"https:\/\/files.doj.mt.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/ocp-3031.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Montana debt management bond<\/a><\/strong> in the amount of $50,000. \u00a0In addition to the Montana surety bonding requirements, the law also requires third party verification of the applicant&#8217;s proper pre-license training and\/or experience, and periodic business audits by a certified public accountant. \u00a0The <strong>Montana debt management company bond\u00a0<\/strong>form states that, the conditions of this obligation are set forth in Montana Code Annotated \u00a7 30-14-2001 et al. and as follows: \u00a01.
