Per the FLHSMV, motor vehicle, mobile home and recreational vehicle dealers must meet the licensing requirements of the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to conduct business in the state. A Florida mobile home dealer bond is one of the requirements for mobile home sales operations.
Pursuant to F.S. §320, an applicant must file with the Department a good and sufficient surety bond. The mobile home dealer bond must be in a form approved by the Department (Form number 86018) and guarantee that the dealer will comply with the conditions of any written contract made by the dealer in connection with the sale, exchange, or improvement of any mobile home and will not violate any of the provision(s) of F.S. Chapter 319 in the conduct of his or her business. The Florida mobile home dealer bond must run to the Department and in favor of any retail customer that sustains any loss as a result of a violation. The surety bond amount is calculated as follows:
Per the Chapter, "any person who buys, sells, or deals in both mobile homes and recreational vehicles shall provide the same surety bond required of dealers who buy, sell, or deal in mobile homes only." All dealer surety bonds must be issued by a surety company authorized to do business in Florida. Questions about the licensing procedure may be directed to:
