An Iowa motor vehicle dealer bond is one of the requirements contemplated under Chapter 322 of the state's general statutes for those individuals that wish to deal in automobiles or towable recreational vehicles. Pursuant to 322.4, "An applicant must file a a surety bond executed by the applicant as principal and by a corporate surety company licensed to do business within the state, which must run to the state. The Iowa auto dealer bond must be issued in the amount of seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) and be conditioned upon the faithful compliance with all of the statutes regulating the business of a dealer in motor vehicles, and indemnifying any person who buys a motor vehicle from the dealer from any loss caused by the failure of the dealer to comply with any of the provisions of state law."
