Bond Penalty: $50,000

A Mississippi public adjuster bond is required under Title 83 of the Mississippi Code from all professionals engaging in insurance adjustment activities in the state. There are several classes of adjuster contemplated under the statute. The licenses are issued to both individuals and business entities.

  • Independent Adjuster
  • Emergency
  • Trainee (Independent)
  • Public Adjuster
  • Emergency Public Adjusters
  • Public Adjuster Trainee

Of these, a Mississippi public adjuster bond is required only of the full P.A. license class. The surety bond guarantees prompt payment of all claims arising from acts that caused damages to a third party as a result of the adjuster's erroneous acts, failure to act, conviction of fraud, or conviction of unfair practices in his capacity as a public adjuster. The surety's obligation specifically guarantees compliance with Title 83 of the Mississippi Code and Mississippi Insurance Department Regulation 2007-4. Per the Mississippi Department of Insurance, an adjuster may apply on-line at www.sircon.com/Mississippi or on the NIPR. or download and submit an application here.
