Bond Penalty: $5,000

Per ordinance (resolution 19-199), the Nevada County Board of Supervisors reviewed and approved adoption of the Nevada County Commercial Cannabis Cultivation Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and the measures regarding cannabis cultivation activities in the County. The Board has promulgated specific rules regarding the licensing of cannabis producers, among which is found a requirement for a Nevada County commercial cannabis bond. Per the county's website, "A Commercial Cannabis Bond form shall be submitted for all ADP and CCP applications. This is not required at the time of your application submittal but will need to be provided prior to the issuance of any Commercial Cannabis Permit."

The Nevada County Cannabis Surety Bond must bind the surety to the County of Nevada in a penal sum of Five Thousand & 00/100 dollars ($5,000.00). The surety bond guarantees compliance with the provisions of Sec. L-II 3.30 of the Nevada County Land Use and Development Code. The obligation also guarantees payment of costs and reasonable expenses and fees, including reasonable attorney's fees incurred by the County in enforcing the same.

The County of Nevada has through the Board voiced very specific concerns about the biological/environmental impact of marijuana grow operations.
