Many, MANY villages, townships, counties, and cities have enacted municipal codes which require a surety bond in order to obtain contractor and business licenses. Most of these are commercial surety bond class obligations, made up of simple, transactional bonds that do NOT contain contract performance guarantees.

Illinois Motor Vehicle Dealer Bond

Required by the Secretary of State, Vehicle Services Division. Auto dealer bond in the amount of $50,000.

Illinois Public Adjuster Bond

Surety bond in the amount of $20,000 required by the Department of Insurance, License processed through NIPR.

Illinois Highway Permit Bond

Under 605 ILCS 5/4 209, required by the Department of Transportation. (Bond penalty based on access class and individual or blanket bond form).

Illinois Public Official Bond

Required from clerks, sheriffs and their deputies in most counties.

Illinois Insurance Producer Bond

A surety bond in the amount of $2,000 is required by the Department of Insurance from insurance producers without appointment.

Illinois Irrigation Contractor Bond

Required by the Department of Public Health. $20,000 surety bond lawn sprinkler system and irrigation permits.

Illinois Certificate of Title Bond

A three year surety bond required by the Vehicle Services Division, equal to 1½ times the vehicle's appraised value.

Illinois Janitorial Services Bond

A dishonesty bond which protects the clients of a cleaning service from loss due to janitorial employee acts.

Illinois Appeal Bond (Supersedeas Bond)

Must be filed to perfect appeal of a civil judgment in order to stay enforcement. Must guarantee, interest and costs.

Illinois Mechanic's Lien Release Bond

Permitted under the Illinois Mechanic's Lien Act. Lien discharge bond must be equal to 175% of the lien claim.
