Individuals representing student athletes in the State of Georgia must be licensed and provide a Georgia athlete agent bond.  Georgia statute defines a an athlete agent as any individual who enters into an agency contract with a student athlete or, directly or indirectly, recruits or solicits a student athlete to enter into an agency contract. This term includes an individual who represents to the public that the individual is an athlete agent.  The Georgia Athlete Agent Regulatory Commission is the agency that licenses and regulates athlete agents.  The mandatory Georgia athlete agent license bond must be in the amount of $10,000 and guarantee payment of damages in the amount of such bond to any athletic department aggrieved by any act of the licensee whose act is in violation of O.C.G.A. §43-4A-14 or would be grounds for revocation of a license under O.C.G.A. §43-4A-7 or §43-4A-8. If more than one athletic department suffers damages by the actions of the licensee then each athletic department shall receive a pro rata share of such amount of the bond for each athlete who loses his or her eligibility to participate in intercollegiate sports as a result of actions of the licensee.  National surety leaderSurety One, Inc., offers athlete agent bonds in all states where they are required by law. Visit us at SuretyOne.com, call (787) 333-0222 or (800) 373-2804, or email us at Underwriting@SuretyOne.com for a Georgia athlete agent bond application or any other bond need.
