According the Nevada State Contractors Board, each contractor’s license issued in the state requires a Nevada contractors license bond. The Board determines the amount of the bond at the time of license approval, which can vary in amount from $1,000 to $500,000 based on the Board’s review and assessment of license requested, monetary limit granted, past, present or future financial responsibility, experience, and character of the applicant.  The Nevada contractors license bond must be delivered with the license application to the Board, and provide protection for any person having a valid claim who; (1) As owner of the property to be improved entered into a construction contract with the contractor and is damaged by failure of the contractor to perform the contract or to remove liens filed against the property: or, (2) As an employee of the contractor performed labor on or about the site of the construction covered by the contract; or, (3) As a supplier or materialman furnished materials or equipment for the construction covered by the contract; or, (4) Is injured by any unlawful act or omission of the contractor in the performance of a contract. The nation’s surety leaderSurety One, Inc., is a preferred provider of contractor license bonds in all states where they are required.
