As per Florida law, no person may engage in the business of selling or dealing in tobacco products as a distributor in any place of business in the state without first having posted a Florida tobacco products distributor bond and received a license from the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco. Each applicant for a distributor’s license must pay the appropriate fees and  submit a surety bond from a company authorized to do business in Florida. The Florida tobacco distributor bond must be in the sum of $1,000 and in a form prescribed by the Division, currently form ABT-6032. Whenever it is the opinion of the Division that the bond given by a licensee is inadequate in amount to fully protect the State, the Division will require an additional bond.  The bond obligation  guarantees compliance with Florida Statutes Chapter 21, Part II, and the payment when due of all taxes, penalties, and accrued interest. The Florida surety leaderSurety One, Inc. issues tobacco sales and excise tax bonds for all applicants regardless of his or her credit condition.
